About Bsc Medical Lab Technology
Introduction: The Medical Laboratory Technologist is primary medical professional who is institutionally educated and clinically trained in the art and science of Medical Laboratory Technology(MLT). MLT practice includes a complete examination of the all organelles systems of human body required for the diagnosis of disorders or diseases. Candidates with this degree can deal with new advances in instrumentation, methodology or standardization, Management of Laboratories, Standard Protocols and use of technology as relates to Laboratory Investigations. They also work in the areas of cytotechnology (study of human tissue), phlebotomy, urinalysis, coagulation, parasitology and serology. Phlebotomists draw and test blood whereas Blood bank technologists determine correct blood types for transfusions.
Course overview: The Bachelor's in Medical Lab Technology is a three-year, full-time program. It comprise of 6 semesters and compulsory 6 months internship in last semester. And whole program consists of various curricular, extracurricular, co-curricular and social awareness activities. In this study period, students will undertake 5 Basic Courses and 21 Specialized Courses, one short term Dissertation/ Pathology lab/Industry internship Project for a duration of 3 months in the 6th Semester, with many short term projects & training programs with duration for a few days throughout the course.
