Preamble:

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has recommended that all universities create an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). ITM University, located in Raipur, was founded in February 2012. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University was established on 19 June 2017 with the purpose of ensuring and maintaining high quality standards. The IQAC is responsible for strategizing, directing, and overseeing the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) initiatives at the University. The primary responsibility of the IQAC is to direct the endeavours and initiatives of the University to sustain academic superiority and strong internal management.

Quality Policy:

The objective is to create and execute a strong quality system that covers teaching, research, consultation, continued education, and core and support services. This system will provide accountability to stakeholders through self-assessment and ongoing enhancement.

Quality Objectives:

  • To establish & implement a robust quality system encompassing teaching, research, consultancy, continued education and focus on the core and support functions to ensure accountability to stakeholders through self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • The objective is to improve the academic and administrative performance of an institution by promoting a culture of excellence and applying optimal methods. This entails the process of carefully choosing and instructing internal quality monitoring personnel to supervise the implementation of quality system protocols. Consistent evaluations and subsequent remedial measures are implemented to achieve ongoing improvement.
  • To develop an approach in order to promote pedagogical innovation and creative teaching techniques among staff through staff development. The University aims to utilize electronic resources for instructing and overseeing the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • The institution aims to engage in multiple accrediting processes, such as NIRF, NAAC, NBA, and international accrediting.
  • To supervise the progress of students' academic development and offer guidance and assistance.
  • To provide students with informational seminars, workshops, and educational visits through the Career Guidance and Placement Cell.
  • To urge Faculty members to submit articles in foreign journals and create mechanisms for receiving input on faculty, curriculum, institutional performance, library, and hostel amenities.
  • To develop a robust feedback system to contribute inputs from parents, graduates, and employers.
  • To develop a system that fosters an entrepreneurial mindset and promotes student-led initiatives.
  • To engage students regularly in community service and promote awareness of national matters. To encourage the institution to forge relationships with industry and research organizations, strengthen alliances, and produce revenue through consultation services.
  • To ensure faculty development initiatives and partnerships with international universities enable a wide range of exchange programs.

Quality Assurance Strategies / Activities:

  • To build and effectively implement a strong quality system that includes teaching, research, consultancy, continued education, and also focuses on the core and support functions to provide accountability to stakeholders through self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • To establish a methodical and purposeful approach to enhance the academic and administrative performance of the school.
  • To facilitate the improvement of institutional functioning by promoting the internalization of a quality culture and the establishment of best practices.
  • To select and educate a team of internal quality monitoring members to oversee the successful execution of quality system operations.
  • To guarantee that the specified Processes and Procedures are regularly evaluated and implementing appropriate corrective actions to achieve continual enhancement.
  • To ensure the maintenance of appropriate paperwork to substantiate the Quality Processes and Procedures implemented.

Functions of IQAC:

  • To build and effectively implement a strong quality system that includes teaching, research, consultancy, continuous education, and a specific emphasis on the key aspects.
  • The objective is to establish and efficiently execute a robust quality system that encompasses teaching, research, consultancy, ongoing education, and also prioritizes the essential and auxiliary roles to ensure responsibility to stakeholders through self-assessment and ongoing enhancement.
  • To implement a systematic and deliberate strategy to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To enhance the operation of institutions by encouraging the adoption of a culture of excellence and the use of optimal methods.
  • To recruit and train a group of internal quality monitoring personnel to supervise the effective implementation of quality system activities.
  • To ensure that the designated Processes and Procedures are consistently assessed and adopt suitable corrective measures to achieve ongoing improvement.
  • To ensure the proper documentation is maintained to support the implementation of Quality Processes and Procedures.

Benefits of IQAC:

  • The IQAC will facilitate and contribute to the following:
    1. a. Ensuring a higher level of clarity and focus on the functioning of the institution to enhance quality.
    2. b. Promoting the internalization of a culture of quality.
    3. c. Enhancing and coordinating various activities of the institution and institutionalizing all good practices.
  • Offer a solid foundation for decision-making to enhance the operation of institutions.
  • Serve as a dynamic framework for implementing quality improvements in higher education institutions.
  • Establish a systematic approach for documenting and communicating throughout the organization.

IIQAC Composition:

  • Chairperson: Head of the Institution
  • Teachers to represent all levels (Assistant Professor and Associate Professor) (Three to eight)
  • One member from the Management
  • The senior administrative officer (Office Superintendent/Manager)
  • One nominee each from the Local Society/Trust, Students and Alumni
  • One nominee each from the Employer/Industrialists/Stakeholders
  • One of the senior teachers as the Coordinator of the IQAC

Term of Members & Meetings of IQAC

  • The tenure of the Office of the Members of IQAC shall be for Three Years and may be extended by the Chairperson.
  • All the meetings of IQAC shall always be chaired by the Vice Chancellor and in his / her absence, by any one of the nominees of the Vice Chancellor Pro-Chancellor.
  • IQAC shall meet at least Four Times a year on dates, times and places decided by the Chairperson / Vice Chancellor/ Pro-Chancellor.
  • The Agenda for IQAC meetings shall be prepared by the Deputy Director, IQAC, under the instructions of and with prior approval of the Pro-Chancellor/ Vice Chancellor / Chairperson.
  • An accurate recording of proceedings (minutes) of each meeting shall be prepared and shall be maintained by the Deputy Director, IQAC at the office of the Vice-Chancellor.
  • In order to facilitate collaboration, decentralization and smooth decision making and implementation of quality enhancement, the IQAC shall function at two levels viz.
    1. a. IQAC Steering Committee: This committee shall ensure consistent quality improvement in the University by meeting twice a year. It will not only provide suggestions for quality improvement of the university but also review the activities of the IQAC in the University. (composition of this committee is as per the guidelines of NAAC).
    2. b. IQAC Team: The IQAC would originate the planning for Quality improvement and its proper implementation, in consultation with the Executive Committee. The documentation of all activities and submission of reports to external bodies comes under this committee. (composition of this committee is as per the guidelines of NAAC).
